Butler’s Orchard, located at 22222 Davis Mill Rd, Germantown, MD which will take you 45 minutes to get to by car, is a family-focused farm with pick-your-own patches, a kids’ play area and hayrides, plus a market and cafe.
Right after graduating, George and Shirley Butler purchased a 37-acre farm with a log house where the Butler family grew up. Initially they grew 25 acres of peaches and sold them to a local grocery store and at their own small farm market. Now, Butler’s Orchard has more than 25 varieties of fruits, vegetables, flowers and trees on over 300 acres.
Queen Anne Farm, located at 18102 Central Ave, Bowie, MD which is 35 minutes from your RESA apartment, has been growing fresh vegetables for more than 30 years. They believe that a trip to the pumpkin patch should be a family farm experience, complete with a few familiar farm animals and plenty of time to search for the perfect pumpkin.
Their countryside is radiant in the fall, and they’ve created lots of wonderful places for you to create your own priceless photographs. Pumpkins of every size and color are all around, as are dazzling mums. Queen Anne pumpkins range in size from a tiny 2 ounces to over 200 pounds.
