Have you been out to brave the weather for some winter fun yet this year? If you haven’t and you’re looking for a little cold weather camaraderie, try this local hang out for some fun outdoors this January.
Canal Park Ice Skating Rink – Located just ten minutes south of your RESA apartment, right next to the Yards and National Park, the Canal Park Ice Skating Rink is one of Washington DC’s seasonal outdoor skating rinks that Washingtonians love to gather at this time of year. Open November through March, the Canal park Ice Skating Rink is usually the least crowded of all our outdoor rinks, but it still offers the same amenities. Skate rentals, hockey classes, private lessons, and classes for adults and children. Of course, they also have daily hours of free skates available for those who sign up in advance online.
Shaped more like a meandering river than your typical oval ice rink, this local skating rink is a treasured local tradition and a great way to get outdoors and still stay warm in Washington DC this January.
