After a long winter, we can’t wait for spring – and since the first day of the season is coming up on Thursday, March 19, we don’t have to wait for much longer! Soon, you can wipe out that cabin fever and get outside for some biking, hiking, walking and exploring.
One of the best parts of the springtime is wandering some of the parks near our RESA apartments and taking in the fresh air, whether you decide to go for a breather alone, with the whole family or just with Fido for an afternoon out. If this sounds good to you, check out these parks near your RESA apartment!
Lower Senate Park, located between Constitution Avenue, NW, and D Street, NE which is a 15 minute walk from your RESA apartment giving you a chance to enjoy the spring weather, is an urban greenspace with trees and grass offers paved walking areas, fountains and a reflecting pool.
Here, don’t miss the beautiful Senate Fountain, an almost 100-year-old fountain with lion’s-head spouts and a massive 85-foot by 100-foot basin. Plus, it includes an energy efficient lighting system and it also utilizes recirculating pumps to ensure water conservation.
Crispus Attucks Park, located at 23 U St NW, Washington, DC which is certainly worth every minute of the nine minute drive from your RESA apartment, is a popular urban park which includes lots of green space, benches and trails.
Crispus Attucks Park is named in honor of Crispus Attucks, an African American former slave and the first person to lose his life in the Boston Massacre, heralding the beginning of the American Revolution. The park is now a hidden one-acre oasis of flowers, trees and grass, stretching the length of a city block and the width of a half-dozen rowhouses.
