Sure, Thanksgiving takes over our calendar every November, but no reader can forget a little known holiday that takes place during Turkey month as well – National Book Day, which will fall on November 2 this year.
Whether you’re a voracious reader or you haven’t picked up a book since college, today is the day to get back into the joy of reading and pick up a book off one of the shelves of our local bookstores. Historical biographies, romance novels, medieval science fiction (yeah, you know you miss Game of Thrones)… you can find them all around RESA in Washington, DC!

This store was founded by Bill Kerr who had worked at an earlier Capitol Hill bookstore, Wayward Books. Such a big fan of his paper friends, he would take his paycheck in books and when Wayward closed up and moved to Maine, Bill opened Capitol Hill Books in 1991 and it has been thriving ever since.
