While it’s been a hot summer, September has finally broken the humidity and given us plenty of days of perfect weather, ideal for outdoor dining in NoMa. With dozens of new restaurants opening every year in our trendy neighborhood, we’ve gathered up some of the best spots you can find around your RESA apartment for outdoor dining. Take advantage of the cooler weather and embrace these beautiful weeks of late summer!
Wunder Garten – Although this NoMa hangout is open all year round with its climate-controlled pavilion, September is when Wunder Garten really shines with it’s much talked about Oktoberfest celebrations. Inspired by the beer gardens of Germany, Wunder Garten opened in NoMa in 2015 and quickly became a neighborhood staple with its extensive list of craft beers and German food favorites – they even have a ton of vegan options! With dozens of tables that can fit hundreds of people, this outdoor beer garden is especially fun to visit once the weather cools down. Check out their Oktoberfest happening September 27th through October 4th. The best part of Wunder Garten? It’s a five-minute walk from your RESA apartment!
Republic Cantina – Just about a 5-minute walk from your RESA apartment, right in Truxton Circle, Republic Cantina opened its doors this summer and it’s been turning heads around the city ever since! While this local Tex-Mex restaurant has a beautiful interior, fresh with gigantic plant displays and industrial/kitschy vibes, it’s outdoor patio has also become a popular hangout in NoMa, complete with cacti imported from Texas. Now that the weather is cooler and the initial new restaurant hype has finally calmed down, make sure to grab a seat at this local eatery one of these beautiful September days. They’re known for their specialty drinks, so you can totally make an evening out of it!
